cOld, unyielding, refusing to
moVe. yet,
envEloping, sturdy, protective and warmed by the fire inside.

trust no one

I      squint out over these mountains
     Trust      the sturdy granite beneath my soul
No      other discourse, nor companion.
     One      lone eagle, golden, head cocked to the side – 
Not      sure what to make of this lone human.
     Even      I do not know, as I gaze below, how
My Self      came to be,                               alone upon this stone.
