Friday, I spent a few hours crashing some 6th, 7th and 8th grade math classes.
There were some equivalent fractions, and some proportion, and there were octagons.
Also, brilliant and beautiful students.
Passion, and ideas, and ENERGY.
I have some memories of tough days at that age. It’s a challenging time. I don’t think it’s possible to experience anything with the same kind of intensity that exists in middle school. But if only I could have seen myself the way I could see all of these kids…
I want to hug each and every one of them and spend a day learning who they are. I want to tell them that they are amazing and the future is so BIG. I want them to know that their dreams are possible, and that they should NEVER, EVER sell themselves short.
They remind me that my own future is yet untold.
Thank you, to Mrs. KW’s class, for proving that
every day is full of possibility.
